HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
Narrowboat AEGIR was built in 2009 on the banks of the River Trent and named after the tidal bore that sweeps in on Spring Tides. Built by Anchor Marine Engineering, to the Eastwood design she is a bespoke build, featuring curved lines on the cabin and gunwales. Other features include large rear hatch to make traditional / semi-traditional style as required, wood-lined all steel doors and side hatch for security. Bow flares and curved bow lockers.
To avoid drafts the cabin ventilation is via ducted channels to the cabin. Also to the engine room to avoid water ingress on tidal or choppy waters.
A later addition (2013) is the glazed, solid oak rear companionway shelter which is removable/collapsible in minutes if required.
The gas locker holds two 13.5kg propane cylinders with an automatic changeover valve and bubble tester. Storage space for coke used in the solid fuel boiler and access to the water tank filler.
Insulated throughout with semi slab rock wool and fitted out with natural finish Ash joinery.

The saloon has a gate leg table with storage for cutlery glasses etc. Two foldable tub chairs also have storage. Full-size Galley with curved cupboards features Granite Worktops and inset sink unit, gas cooker with oven and grill, 240-volt fridge, from shoreline or inverter.
