TEQUILA is an early example of the Spirit mark, which since 1993 have built an enviable reputation for creating bespoke yachts with beautiful classic lines and outstanding performance. One of only three Spirit 42’s built (two bermudian and one gaff rigged) and the only one currently in the UK.
TEQUILA has benefited from an 18 month restoration programme to bring back the original colour and quality of the varnish work of the mahogany cabin, rails and cockpit. Sean McMillan commented on the condition of TEQUILA at the Suffolk Yacht Harbour Classic Regatta held at the end of July 2021.
‘Tequila looks better now than it has in the last 20 years’
The current owner describes TEQUILA as ’a truly rewarding boat to sail and race. She handles beautifully and delivers exciting performance whether sailed solo or with a full crew’.
Spirit Yachts is recognised as a world leader in modern classic yacht design and build. Based in Suffolk on the East Coast of the UK, Spirit Yachts has a portfolio of customised, wooden sail and power yachts ranging from day sailers to super yachts.
Established in 1993, Spirit Yachts was founded by Sean McMillan and Mick Newman, who set out to offer yacht owners a beautiful, sustainable alternative to fibreglass, production boats. This goal remains at the core of the company’s ethos today.
From humble beginnings in the Suffolk countryside, Spirit Yachts now operates from a large waterside facility with a team of highly skilled designers, naval architects, boat builders, cabinet makers, electricians and engineers.
TEQUILA is built to exacting standards of epoxy/glass sheathed strip cedar planking on mahogany frames. Teak laid decks with marine-ply sub deck. Teak cockpit gratings.
