HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

 CAMERO was built in 1968 for Mr & Mrs R H Stump of Berkeley Court, Baker Street, London by W A Souter & Son of Cowes (Wallace & Mike) together with Clare Lallow Ltd. Launched from their building sheds into the Medina and taken over to Port Hamble for interior fitting-out by Malcolm Darch, now working in Salcombe. Originally fitted with 240hp Perkins HD6354 diesel engines. Her sistership JOLINDA, Ex; SELIG built in 1969 was boat of the show at Earl’s Court, she is now in South Africa.

She was stationed at Berthon’s, Lymington where Mr & Mrs Stump were members of the Royal Southern Yacht Club, RAF Yacht Club and Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club.

In 1976 Mr & Mrs H T Palmer of Whitefield, Manchester became the next registered owners, continuing to keep CAMERO at Lymington. John Adams of Lower Machen, Monmouthshire bought the vessel in 1977, John a member of the Royal Solent Yacht Club. In 1978 the present owners bought CAMERO through Berthon’s and have since kept her at Ocean Village, Southampton from where they have cruised extensively.

CAMERO is of cold-moulded construction, Mahogany hull, Cascover sheathed from new. Teak laid decks to the aft coach-roof deck and cockpit, marine-ply decks forward. Varnished Mahogany superstructure and brightwork. Spacious and light accommodation benefiting from the generous beam of over 13ft and offering two en-suite twin cabins and large central saloon. A particular feature is the original Sycamore polished joinery giving a quality period finish. Well equipped galley with fridge, cooker and sink unit. Valliant water heater. Microwave.

Pair 315hp Yanmar 6LPA-STP2 Diesel Engines, installed 2015, six-cylinder with four valves per cylinder giving a cruising speed of 24 knots.  Fully serviced October 2020 by Medina Marine Services, Cowes. Stainless steel trim tabs. Eberspacher cabin heating. Calorifier. Two banks of 24-volt batteries and 12-volt battery. 2,000 watt inverter.
