HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
The Loch-Long One-Design was commissioned by members of the Loch-Long Sailing Club to mark the Coronation of George V1 and Queen Elizabeth. The class, formerly known as the Coronation Class comprises about 130 active boats with fleets sailing from the Royal Gourock Y C and Aldeburgh Y C where Gaen has taken second in class racing.
Gaen, number thirty-nine was built by Ernest Nunn in 1957, the yard has a good reputation and built a number of Dragon O D, numerous yachts, motor cruisers and working boats from their Suffolk based yard.
Gaen was restored in 2007 with new decks, coamings, splined mahogany hull.
Purpose-built yard cradle on wheels which can be winched on to a car trailer.
Four sails, including main and genoa about 2005, plus an older spare set. Spinnaker.
Recent stainless steel fittings, anchor, buoyancy bags, warps, telescopic sampson post in SS.
