HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
In 1946 Bruce Crandall produced new design plans for a Class C Hydro Plane Racer, marketed as the Black Arrow. The design incorporated the use of marine-ply on a substantial frame creating a strong yet light hull. The Black Arrow proved to be a popular, two-seater, fast racer ideal for use on lakes, estuaries and rivers.
This example, recently completed by professional boat builders in Ramsgate is constructed of Robbins Elite Marine-Ply on Douglas-Fir stringers, all fastened with A4 stainless steel screws and finished in bi-axle cloth, epoxy finished.
Deck are of Sapele as are the dash and coamings. Teak rubbing strake.
Chrome finish bronze fittings and laminated glass screen. Teleflex steering.
New galvanised road trailer, easily pulled by an average family car.
Recreational Craft Directive exemption due to date of the original design.
