HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

In 1929 W G Hetherington commissioned A M Dickie & Sons boat-builder of Bangor, Carmarthenshire to design and built a bespoke motor yacht for cruising around the West Coast of Scotland.  Launched in April 1930 as JANTHEA 1V she replaced the earlier, slightly smaller JANTHEA 111. After only four years ownership Hetherington sold JANTHEA 1V to Walter Melville Wills grandson of Henry Overton Wills founder of the WD & HO Wills tobacco empire.

Walter Wills had a house in the Kyle of Lochalsh so required a suitable motor yacht for entertaining in style visiting family and friends. Walter Wills main residence, was a fifteen bedroom mansion, Bracken Hill House, Near Clifton, Bristol which he had built in 1886.
At the outbreak of World War 11 JANTHEA 1V was requisitioned by the H M Government for coastal patrol by the Royal Navy and was renamed HMS CORAX, following a Lloyds Classification Survey in April 1939. In 1948, after de-commissioning and re-named LADY JEANNETTA  Count Raben-Levetzau of Copenhagen, 1904-1992 became her new owner. After a brief trip around the US she returned to the Mediterranean where, anchored off Athens she became a popular floating casino.  In 1952 the Hellenic Mining Company bought LADY JEANNETTA mooring her in Famagusta, Cyprus. In the late 1950s she was bought by B Athanasiadis and moored in Piraeus, Greece. Under new ownership and re-named ISMINI 111 she remained in the Med. until purchased by UK owners who began commercially chartering the vessel  in the 1990s in the Cote D’ Azur. In 2002 the famous Belgian, painter and sculptor Jean-Michel Folon fell in love with the vessel and commissioned a specialist Italian shipyard to painstakingly rebuild the vessel closely supervised by Captain Jean Louis Legros.

Built of Burma Teak on oak frames with oak structure and teak laid decks. Varnished teak superstructure and mostly original deck hardware and joinery.
The interior was refurbished by the Genova based company Sydac who ensured that the original style and ambience was retained whilst incorporating many upgrades and modern comforts. Commercially classed by RINA & MCA
In 2004 and now named OVER THE RAINBOW the vessel was re-located to Nice, France and has since been maintained to the highest possible standard. Beautifully appointed accommodation finished in polished mahogany and cherry wood panelling. Fully air-conditioned with Sat Com decoder for television and satellite phone and air-conditioning controls in all cabins.
