HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

‘Assinie’ was designed by one of the most well known French yacht designers, Francios Sergent (1911 – 2000) who created many one design classes and individual yachts bringing sailing to a much broader population during the post-war years. She was built by Chantier Naval Desbordes in Saujon, later to become Nautic Saintonge for a pharmacist, Doctor Arnoux of Abidjan who sailed each Summer at Royan.

‘Assinie’ is of cold moulded construction comprising four layers of mahogany on mahogany frames with a marine-ply deck overlaid with pine and varnished hardwood cockpit and cabin coamings.

Recent work includes, new prop, prop. shaft and cutlass bearing, new rudder with stainless-steel stock.

Deck stepped bermudian sloop rig with 30ft. alloy mast, 10ft. boom, stainless-steel standing rigging and polypropylene running rigging.  Three sails.  Roller furling main.

16hp Vetus 2 cylinder diesel engine fitted new in 2007.  Only about 150 hours.  20 litre fuel capacity, 5 knots cruising speed. Shaft driven three blade propeller.  Three batteries, 240 volt shore-power.

Accommodation for six in traditional varnished and painted interior. Including Main double cabin, dinette double and settee berths.  Galley with two burner cooker, stainless steel sink, 50 gallon fresh water capacity. Heads compartment with marine pump-out wc.

Inventory Includes:

Entel HT Handheld VHF, Garmin GPS, Compass, Garmin Sounder, Garmin Distance/Speed Log. (new transducer 2010)
Anchor windlass, CQR anchor, Kedge anchor, 20 metres chain, two bilge pumps, fenders, mooring warps.

BROKERS NOTE:

An attractive and well presented traditional cruising yacht strongly constructed in the popular cold-moulded style of the 1960’s.  A recent engine and good inventory certainly make this yacht well worth considering.
