HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
LAVROCK is one of a number of motor-sailers built by Jones Buckie Slip Ltd during the 1960s to a design by G L Watson, who needs little introduction as one of the finest naval architects of the 20th Century. Around twenty-two Spey Class 35 motor-sailers were built from 1960 to 1966 together with about seven 40ft models.
LAVROCK was built for Rev. The Hon. Robin Buchanan-Smith of Chaplain’s House, St. Andrews, Fife and stationed at Buckie during his ownership.
These sturdy, purposeful motor-sailers have a proven long-distance cruising record with a good few based in the Med.
