Original launched as Tentative with a junk rig the vessel was the subject of a number of press articles and much photographed. The junk rig of limited success was replaced after a few years by a convential bermudian rig. Part one, UK registered, Piculet’s owner during the 1960’s was Kenneth Morgan a surveyor from Poole. Francis Langford, a master mariner from Falmouth acquired the vessel in 1969 selling in 1972 to Frederick Johnston of Coventry.  Arthur MacDonald-Spencer, an engineer from Herne Bay became the next registered owner. The current owner bought the vessel some four years ago and has cruised from a West Wales marina mooring.
