26ft GAFF CUTTER – BLACK LADY

BLACK LADY is a Gaff Cutter, built by Birdham Shipyard Ltd in 1947 (Lloyds registered in 1948) designed by M G Duff and built for Major Anthony Knight MVO, OBE from Fowey, Cornwall. In the mid 1950s Brig. E C J Woodford of Fowey and M M Woodford bought BLACK LADY followed in 1964 by Lt. Cmdr. P H London R N of Ruan Minor, Cornwall. In the late 1960s the well known and respected BBC broadcaster and author Tom Salmon of Truro purchased BLACK LADY selling in 1975 to the Clare family from Saltash. Certainly a very distinguished list of registered owners.

BETA 20hp diesel engine, fitted in 2016 with little use since. BLACK LADY offers a spacious main cabin with port and starboard settee berths and a Faversham coal stove.
