25ft HARRISON BUTLER/UPHAM ‘WATERBUG’ BERMUDIAN CUTTER – NIGHT WIND

Night Wind is Bermudian masthead cutter rig, carvel planked yacht built in 1939 as a one class design called the water bug. Adapted from an original design by Dr T. Harrison Butler, the Waterbug was developed by Uphams in the late 1930’s of which sixteen were built. Night Wind is the epitome of English built classic sailing yachts and is delightful to took at from all angles.

She is currently standing on the hard at Rye having not been sailed for some while. She has been well protected and her condition is not that much changed since her last re-fit in 2012. She benefits from an all timber mast and boom plus many original internal fixtures and fittings. She is need of a caring owner, someone who is prepared to put time into returning her to sailing glory. Website images dating from 26th April 2023, plus several archive photographs as indicated.
There is a considerable amount of information regarding the Waterbug and Night Wind on the website of the Harrison Butler Association.
