HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
The Trintella Class date from the early 1970’s and were designed by the famous Dutch Naval Architect Ericus Gerhardus Van de Stat. This fast cruising class has all the advantages of a glass-fibre hull and structure combined with the comfort and style of teak trim and interior. Sea-keeping ability and spaciousness of the accommodation account for their great popularity.
Various sizes were available as a moulded hull and structure for professional boat-yard completion. The Tyler Boat Company produced many Trintella and Nelson mouldings.
Kairos , a Mark 111A example, built in 1978 was fitted out by Frank Hall & Sons, Walton, Essex. The design features a centre cockpit and aft poop-deck creating a spacious aft cabin and full width sun-deck above. She has a long ballast keel, raked stem and radiused transom stern.
The hull was epoxy treated in 1995.
Accommodation fitted-out in teak offers seven berths in three cabins.
Double berth Fore-Cabin, Double berth Aft-Cabin, Saloon with settee/berths with Royal Blue berth cushions. Mikuni hot air heating system. Two heads compartments with Simpson Lawrence marine Wc’s. Washbasins and shower. Galley with Flavel two burner gas cooker, oven and grill, sink unit, ice box, Electrolux 240 volt fridge, ample pantry and crockery lockers.
Beta BV 1505 four cylinder 37hp diesel engine fitted in 2004. 240 volt shore-power. 90 gallons fuel capacity in two GRP tanks. 100 gallon GRP fresh-water tank.
Bermudian Ketch Rig with alloy spars, stainless-steel rigging, terylene running rigging, slab mainsail reefing, Furlex headfoil, spinnaker gear. Two pairs speed genoa winches, one pair halyard winches.
Jeckell sails include, Genoa, Mainsail, two Jibs and Mizzen.
Inventory:
CQR 35lb anchor and 25 fathoms 3/8th chain, Danforth 20lb kedge anchor, davits, boarding ladder, cockpit cover, sprayhood. Lofrans electric windlass, Sestral Compass, Seafarer Sounder, Autohelm, Sailor VHF and Phillips Decca.
Bilge pumps, navigation lights, searchlight, boathook, fire extinguishers, fire blanket, clock, barometer, radio, various fenders and warps, tender, two lifebuoys, foghorn, TV aerial, flares.
BROKERS NOTE:
The Trintella Mk. 111 is a proven long distance cruising yacht offering spacious, adaptable accommodation for extended voyaging or living aboard. This example has been well maintained by the previous retired couple based in Southern Ireland. Last surveyed in 2003. Now offered for sale at a realistic guide price as part of an estate.
