Classic Yacht Brokerage Comments on this Christchurch Coot One Design

Christchurch Coot One Design built in 1937 by Charles Purbrook in Christchurch.

In present ownership for 20 years, she had a major refit around 2008 where most of the bottom planking was replaced.

The Coot was conceived by Charles Purbrook in 1936 who wanted to design and built himself a dinghy.  The first boat was bought before she was finished and he was asked to build another.  Before long the design took off and Purbrook moved to a yard on the banks of the Avon in Christchurch.  The boat became a local one Design and was raced in good numbers in the local area.

These are solid, stable and capable boats with a good amount of internal space.  This boat comes with a road trailer and cover.  She has been in regular use with a recent week of sailing in Salcombe, Devon.
