HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
The New York Commuter Yachts need little introduction as the finest vessels of their type designed to transport the wealthy traders from Long Island to Manhattan.
These finely built, elegant and practical express motor-yachts date from the early 20th Century and by the late 1920’s had become legendary. Mohican, built in 1929 is one of the most well-known of the ‘Manhattan Commuters’ and was rebuilt over a six-year period by Circolo Nautico Italiano, by talented shipwrights who retain up to 95% of the original design.
The current, experienced classic yacht owner has a keen eye for original detail. He spent considerable time and effort researching and documenting the original specifications of the Consolidated Yachts Commuters, this has resulted in one of the finest restorations of these iconic boats.
